Schoolabe Dev Fellowship — Cohort 1 — Summer 2026
Learn How the Industry Actually Works. Not Just How to Code.
A free 6-week industry simulation program for college students who know the basics but have never worked in a real dev environment. Limited to 15 students only.
June 1 – July 15, 2026 · 100% remote · Completely free
You Can Code. But Can You Work Like a Developer?
Most college CS programs teach you syntax. Nobody teaches you how to read someone else's codebase, write a proper pull request, take a code review without breaking down, or ship a feature without breaking everything else.
That gap between college code and industry code is exactly what kills placements. Schoolabe Dev Fellowship exists to close that gap — in 6 weeks, for free.
A free developer program for college students India 2026
Built for CS students who are ready to practice real team workflows — not another syntax tutorial.
6 Weeks. Real Skills. Zero Fluff.
Every week mirrors what you'll actually do on your first dev team.
- 1
Week 1 — Developer Workflow
Git, GitHub, branching, commits that actually make sense. How real teams manage code without stepping on each other.
- 2
Week 2 — Reading Real Codebases
Stop being scared of code you didn't write. Learn how to navigate, understand, and contribute to an existing project.
- 3
Week 3 — Your First Feature
Build something real. Submit a pull request. Get it reviewed. Fix it. Ship it. That cycle is 80% of a developer's actual job.
- 4
Week 4 — APIs and Debugging
Postman, error handling, writing clean readable code that your teammates won't hate you for.
- 5
Week 5 — Mini Project Sprint
Three days to build something from scratch under real constraints. Deadlines, reviews, pressure — controlled but real.
- 6
Week 6 — Present and Ship
Demo your work. Write documentation. Receive your certificate. Update your LinkedIn. Done.
This Is For You If —
- You're a CS student in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year
- You know basic programming but have never worked in a team
- You've been rejected from internships because you lack experience
- You want something real to put on your resume before placements start
- You're tired of tutorials that never actually prepare you for the job
This is NOT for you if —
- You've never written a single line of code
- You're looking for a certificate to collect, not skills to build
- You can't commit 10-12 hours per week for 6 weeks
Mentored by Someone Who Has Actually Done It
Your mentor brings 5 years of real industry experience — not just teaching experience. Every session, every code review, every piece of feedback comes from someone who has sat in the same teams, dealt with the same problems, and learned what actually matters in a dev job.
This is not a recorded course. This is not a YouTube playlist. This is direct mentorship from someone who has been there.

A Certificate That Actually Says Something
Most certificates say "participated." Yours will say what you built, what you learned, and what you can do. Every graduate gets a verified Schoolabe Dev Fellowship certificate listing specific skills completed — not just a PDF with your name on it.
Plus a LinkedIn recommendation from your mentor. That matters more than the certificate.
15 Seats. Not 150. Not 1500.
This program is deliberately small. Because real mentorship cannot happen in a crowd. Every student gets direct attention, direct feedback, and direct access to their mentor. When 15 seats are filled, applications close — regardless of the deadline.
Applications close May 28 or when seats fill. Whichever comes first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this really free?
Yes. No hidden fees, no upsells, no paid tiers. Completely free for selected students.
Do I need prior experience?
You should know basic programming concepts. If you've completed at least one semester of CS or taught yourself the basics online, you're eligible.
How much time do I need per week?
Minimum 10-12 hours per week. This is not a passive program. If you cannot commit that time, please don't apply.
What happens after the program?
You receive your certificate, a LinkedIn recommendation, and join the Schoolabe alumni network. Top performers get early access to future Schoolabe features and campus ambassador opportunities.
Is this an internship?
No. This is an industry simulation program. You will not be working on a live product. You will be working on real workflows, real tools, and real projects in a structured learning environment.
What if I drop out midway?
No certificate is issued for incomplete participation. We take our 15 seats seriously — only apply if you're genuinely committed.
