Bunk Planner – Attendance Predictor Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 23, 2026 (update this date whenever we change sync, analytics, advertising, tracking, or data practices)

Bunk Planner – Attendance Predictor ("the App") is published by Schoolabe ("we," "us"). This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information on iOS and on this policy page on the web. If anything here conflicts with platform rules, the stricter or more specific platform requirement applies.

1. Your data

The App is designed to work without a Schoolabe login account. Most information you enter for attendance planning stays on your device unless described below.

On your device

Daily attendance marks (for example present, missed, or holiday), class counts, timetable details, CGPA or GPA entries, scenario simulations, and related planning data are stored on your device (for example using UserDefaults and other local storage the App uses).

Widget data may be shared only on your device between the App and the iOS Home Screen or Lock Screen widget (for example via Apple's App Group container). That exchange does not send your attendance inputs to Schoolabe.

If you use iCloud Backup (or similar Apple backup), a copy of your device data may be stored with Apple according to your settings and Apple's Privacy Policy.

Optional sync to Schoolabe servers

The App may send a limited set of information to servers operated by Schoolabe (api.schoolabe.com) to support product operations such as anonymous backup or improvement of the App. This sync does not require creating a Schoolabe account. Synced data is linked to a random identifier generated on your device (client user ID), not to your Apple ID, email, or phone number.

When sync runs, we may store:

  • Optional profile fields you provide: name, age, class or degree, and institution name
  • Subject setup: subject names and required attendance percentage thresholds (not your day-to-day attendance history)
  • App metadata: app version, platform (iOS), and market or region setting
  • Sync timestamps and, if you use it, a deletion-request flag

We do not sync daily attendance records, timetable entries, CGPA or GPA calculations, focus-timer data, or widget display content to Schoolabe servers through this feature.

You can request removal of synced data on our servers via Settings → Remove my data in the App. That sends a deletion request associated with your client user ID. We record the request for tracking purposes; it does not immediately erase every stored field, and using sync again may reset the deletion flag. For questions about complete removal, contact us using the details in Section 11.

2. Ads (Google AdMob)

The App may show ads using Google AdMob, an advertising service operated by Google LLC. When ads are shown or loaded, Google may process data such as: device and advertising identifiers; IP address (which can be used to derive coarse location); device and connection information (for example device type, operating system, carrier or network); and ad interaction or diagnostic data related to delivery and measurement of ads.

How Google uses data is described in Google's policies, including https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

3. Analytics (Google Firebase)

The App uses Firebase Analytics, an analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how the App is used so we can improve it. When analytics is active, Firebase may collect data such as: app usage and interaction events (for example screens viewed and features used); device and connection information (for example device model, operating system version, language, and country or region); approximate or coarse location derived from IP address; and identifiers such as an app-instance identifier or, where applicable, an advertising identifier.

We use this information in aggregate to measure performance, diagnose problems, and improve features. Firebase Analytics is not used to access your daily attendance records, timetable, CGPA entries, or other on-device planning data described in Section 1, and it is not used to receive the optional profile or subject setup you may sync to Schoolabe servers.

How Google handles Firebase data is described in Google's policies and at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy and https://policies.google.com/privacy. Where required, your analytics- and ads-related choices may also be governed by the consent options described in Section 4.

4. Consent (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

Where required, the App may use the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) so you can see a consent or options screen for ads, analytics, and related processing. You can review or change choices later in the App via Settings → Ad choices and consent (wording may vary slightly by region; this path is intended for users in the EU, UK, and other areas where UMP applies).

5. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On supported versions of iOS, we may request permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites when that is relevant to advertising or measurement, in line with Apple's App Tracking Transparency rules. You can allow or deny that request, and you can change your choice later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.

6. Notifications

The App may use local notifications (for example reminders you enable). Those notifications are scheduled on your device; their content is not sent to Schoolabe's servers for delivery in the way a push notification from our backend would be. You can turn notifications off in Settings → Notifications → Bunk Planner (or the App's own notification settings, if offered).

7. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App in a way that replaces parental responsibility. If you believe we have received such information, contact us using the details below and we will take appropriate steps.

8. Security and your choices

On-device attendance and planning data rely on your device's protections. Synced data on Schoolabe servers is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in our database infrastructure. No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure. You can remove on-device App data by deleting the App (subject to any backup copies you keep with Apple). You can request removal of synced server data via Settings → Remove my data, as described in Section 1. You can manage analytics- and ads-related choices as described in Sections 2–5 and Apple or Google settings where available.

9. App Store Connect and accuracy

Apple's App Privacy labels and questionnaires in App Store Connect should be answered consistently with this policy and with what the App actually does—especially for categories related to analytics, advertising, identifiers, coarse location, usage data, product interaction, name, other user content (for optional profile and subject setup synced to our servers), and other data types Apple lists. If the App's behavior changes, update both App Store Connect and this page.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, sync, analytics or ads stack, or laws change. Material changes will be reflected by revising the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, in‑App notices or store listing updates.
