What you will do

You support the users of the project you are placed on. That can be a forum, a chat, or the questions that come in on a product. You answer in public, in language the next person can reuse.

When the same question shows up again, you turn it into a short guide and point people at it. You also note the doc or screen that left the question unanswered, so the team on that project can fix it.

The week is about 15 hours. Most of that is replies. A guide is extra, and only when the question has already come up more than once.

What you hand in

Public replies
A direct answer on the thread: what to try, and what result to expect. You do not move the student to a private chat.
A short guide
Only for a question that keeps returning. The guide is a few steps, with an example, that the next student can follow alone.
A gap note
The page or doc, and the question it did not answer. The team on that project uses the note to decide what to fix.

Skills

Writing
A reply a stranger can follow. You name the step, then the result.
Forum replies
You stay on the public thread. The answer has to be useful to the next person who finds it.
Student questions
You can tell a one-off typo from a hole in a lesson. Only the hole becomes a guide.

Who can apply

  • You can write a clear reply that explains one step and the result the student should see.
  • About 15 hours a week, for 3 months, from home. You need to be online for part of that time while students are posting.

What to send

  • The application form on this site. It is free, and you need a Schoolabe account.
  • One sample reply: how you would answer a student who is stuck on a loop, a layout, or a lesson step.
  • Schoolabe writes back if they want to continue. A stipend amount is in the offer letter, and only if you are accepted.
